Beddingham was a market town in a steep vale of the Northgate River, Northgate, Gilneas, positioned 47 miles from Gilneas City. Formally held by the Godfrey Family, who held dominion over Northgate, the town itself was under the stewardship of the Aldrington Family, from Hadwin House.Three of the most notable landmarks of Beddingham are the Beddingham Bridge, Beddingham Castle and the Church of the Prophet Mereldar.

The city was famed for being the birthplace of Hadwin of Northgate, a local hero and progenitor of the Aldrington family. It was the site of the Battle of Beddingham during the Gilnean Civil War, a major confrontation between Royalist and Rebel forces over control of the Beddingham Bridge. The town was heavily damaged during the fighting, save for the Church of the Prophet Mereldar.

The towns darkest hour came during the fall of Gilneas. Ravaged by the worgen curse, the populous of Beddingham were in no state to withstand the Undead invasion following the wall's collapse. The town sat abandoned for the next six years until King Genn and the army of Gilneas returned to retake the peninsula. Once more Beddingham became a hotbed for conflict, with Gilnean and Forsaken forces fighting on and and off for the control of Beddingham Bridge.
